During my freshman year at CCAD, I was exposed to many other artists and found that I am not the best there is. I'm not as creative as I always thought, nor as addicted to drawing as i liked to portray. I know a few kids who always have a sketchbook and a pen on them - whether it's simply for show or truely an addiction to expression via ink and paper, I don't know. But I do realize that I'm not one of those kids.
Don't get me wrong, I thrive off of illustrating, drawing, etc. I'm simply lazy. haha It's terribly but I will admit it. I am lazy even with the one thing that makes me feel complete.
I feel like I've been slacking this summer, although I was productive. I filled the first ten or 15 pages in my sketchbook with doodles, started 3 paintings (that are all around 90% done) made some jewelry, as well as a pitiful wire sculpture. I wanted to actually finish 3 or 4 paintings, and improve my life drawing skills, but i didn't draw from life more than once i think. ack.
I start school the day after tomorrow, and i'll kick my ass i gear. My first month will be rough, 'cause in two weeks i'll be moving into my *own* apartment and ever since i made that decision, it has been the only thing on my mind. If you ever want a good distraction, just up and move. oh dear.
As for this account, I'm keeping it even though i had previously considered deleting it. I'm leaving it as is, because it's a good account of the poor stuff i did in high school (that at the time somehow swelled my ego tenfold) and if i choose to use the new account that i created months ago (and then abandoned due to my perpetual laziness) it will consist of things from my college days. :]
check out a moment too soon [link]
i got crazy with the name no? haha
bye for now
and here's a hello to anyone who's wandering deviantart and stops by my page.
(edit//i fixed the link, even though there is nothing on that page. hee)
